WHY BU? WHY FILM?
Eric Yellin followed in his parents’ footsteps by choosing Boston University as his college, majoring in Communications. It was there that he first realized his passion for filmmaking and decided to turn it into a career.
For three decades, Eric worked in film and television on over 50 projects, starting as a production assistant, working his way up the ladder to first assistant director. He was the director and producer on several others, and even, on occasion, appeared as an actor.
ERIC THE MENTOR
Among his impressive film credits are Three Kings, The Following, El Cantante, The Squid and the Whale, Fair Game, and The Hoax. His television work included such series as Damages, Sneaky Pete and Royal Pains.

Despite a hectic shooting schedule, Eric always took the time to mentor aspiring Filmmakers, on and off set, offering them guidance and the tools they needed to succeed in a grueling business.
ERIC'S LEGACY
To honor Eric’s legacy after his passing in 2022 his beloved wife, and two sons, established the Eric Yellin Film Fund in order to aid future generations of filmmakers,
The fund provides upperclassmen at B.U.'s College of Communications support for their honors thesis project and affords them the opportunity to create higher quality films that can help launch their careers, much like it did for Eric.
